Tournament Of Minds (TOM) is an international program which provides the opportunity for primary and secondary students to solve authentic, open-ended challenges that foster creative, divergent thinking whilst developing collaborative enterprise, excellence and teamwork. Challenges are set in four disciplines: The Arts, Language Literature, Social Sciences and STEM. TOM takes place in Term 3 and sees students work in groups of seven to devise their solutions with no help from parents or teachers. Any props or costumes they use must be created by them. Groups present their solutions at the regional final at Tweed Heads, with regional champions then proceding to Sydney for the state finals.
