Families are invited to come and enjoy an evening together on our school oval. There will be a sausage sizzle and water available, and you are encouraged to bring a picnic rug and some other festive goodies. We are excited that both the school band and school choir will be leading the carols, and other classes may have a song or two in them as well. The school would love for as many families to come as possible, so please invite grandparents, neighbours etc and don’t forget your festive outfits!

To help celebrate the end of their time at Alstonville Public School, Year 6 students have chosen to spend their day out at GC Aqua Park on the Gold Coast. The park contains an inflatable obstacle course floating in the Nerang River and will provide the students with a challenging but fun day to remember. We are booked in for 100 minutes on the course, the students will then eat a picnic lunch before returning to school.

We have made a significant change to our end of year ceremony. Instead of what was somewhat a traditional “presentation” type assembly, we are moving to more of a “celebration” event. This is to highlight the wonderful success ALL of our students have had this year and of the progress they ALL have made. Plans include time at the beginning of the day to visit classrooms where your child/ren will have prepared something to show their growth and that they are super-proud of. Then we will all gather under the COLA to hear from each class, announce their “Alstonville All-Stars” awards, enjoy the Alstonville PS band and acknowledge sports champions, the dux of the school, school citizenship award winners, and announce the 2025 school leaders. Our morning will end with you being invited to join your children for a pre-ordered lunch.
