Alstonville Public School has continued to be a quality place of learning since 1875. The school caters for all students K-6 and includes an opportunity class for high performing students and multi-categorical support classes for students with additional needs. Our school stands within the Bundjalung Nation and is committed to working collaboratively with its local Aboriginal community and AECG to develop culturally appropriate learning activities and strong, respectful relationships.
The school actively focuses on providing students with a balanced, progressive curriculum. Varied and extensive extra-curricular activities are offered to students to engender their love of life-long learning. These include a wide variety of sporting, performance and cultural activities as well as participation in initiatives such as Tournament of Minds and the Gamechanger Challenge.
At Alstonville Public School, learning is enhanced through a growth mindset in the students and a focus on explicit, quality teaching in the staff. Project Based Learning pedagogy is to develop student agency, and particularly collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking. Student and school wellbeing is always a focus of the school, with students specifically learning the values of Positive Behaviour for Learning and the Berry St Education Model.

Fully Equipped STEM Learning Spaces
Alstonville Public School is equipped with what we call our "Live Ideas Centre". This space is fully equipped with a stage, two large computer displays, 3 x soundproof green screen rooms, and desks designed for planning and working on art, robotics and much more! We also have an outdoor learning area known as pirate cove, and a library we call the "Information HUB". All of these spaces have been freshly designed and furnished to meet the needs of our students.
